Workout Mistake #3
“Separating Cardio & Resistance Training”
One of the biggest mistakes I see is men and women keeping their cardio seperate from their resistance training.
Only doing one or the other.
For faster fat loss and huge improvements in fitness you’ve gotta combine the two.
Now most peeps, will perhaps do some weights and then do their cardio, but studies show that if you can combine both aspects your results can literally be tripled.
For example, in a study published in the Journal of Sports Medicine and Physical Fitness (Vol. 52(3):255-62), sixty overweight young women were separated into three groups.
- Group 1 combined cardio and resistance training in a circuit fashion.
- Group 2 did moderate intensity continuous workouts (traditional cardio).
- Group 3 was a non-training control group.
Groups 1 & 2 trained five days per week for 12 weeks.
The researchers concluded that the workout style that combined cardio and resistance training produced far better results than those in the traditional cardio group.

Research Study #1: Twice The Results In Half The Time

The same study also found that eight weeks of kettlebell training two times a week improved aerobic capacity by almost 14 percent and abdominal strength by 70 percent in the participants.

Researchers credit the brisk calorie burning to the fact that a kettlebell workout is a total-body movement that is also done very quickly due to the interval-training format.
The researchers went on to say “It’s a quick workout, and you do get a big bang for your buck in a very short amount of time.”
Research Study #2: Boost Fitness Without Slow-Go Cardio
A study in the Journal Of Strength and Conditioning Research examined Continuous the effect kettlebell swings had on Vo2 Max (a key marker of cardiovascular fitness).
They found that by using the kettlebell you can impart a metabolic challenge of sufficient intensity to increase Vo2 max.
In other words, you can increase your fitness by swinging a cannonball back and forwards without having to go off on long runs to boredom-ville and back. So…

The 3 Core Principles Of MK-3

Principle #1: More Muscle Activity
The more muscles you can target per exercise or movement the bigger the spike in your metabolism will be.
Traditional workouts and gym equipment often focus on isolating muscle groups, which when it comes to fat loss, just isn’t going to give you the best bang for your buck.
The MK-3 method uses exercises and movements that involve multiple joint movements, which force your body to recruit several muscle groups all at the same time, leading to higher energy demands and a larger ‘After Burn’ effect.
Principle #2: Higher Intensity
If you’re working out and you’re not getting sweaty or out of breath then the chances are you’re not exercising at the right level of intensity to create that metabolic shift.

And finally, by using a kettlebell we are able to use our bodies in a unique way that not only forces us to use many muscle groups all at the same time, but also a variety of different ranges-of-motion that force our core muscles to work much harder without the need to do hundreds of different sit-up variations.
